The Autism Advice Book I Wish I Had: Every piece of advice I have

Following the success of my first book ~ Life According to Finn: The Positive Side of Autism, I thought I would write a second book, focusing on advice. My book is specifically for parents and carers of autistic children and teenagers. I wanted to share every piece of advice that I have so that I can help other parents with their own journey through Autism. I am not an expert but I do have two teenagers with autism, so I have lots of experience. I have discussed every issue that might arise and offered advice for all of them. I wanted to give advice as myself and from my own experiences. I wanted to speak plainly without the use of complex words and medical terms so that it would be easier for people to read. While I do not know everything, I have tried my best to cover the most common problems in Autism.

The Autism Revolution: Whole-Body Strategies for Making Life All It Can Be

"“An in-depth, scientific—yet hopeful and positive—look at how the brain and body work together . . . [Dr. Martha Herbert] has developed a new way of seeing autism.”— Library Journal After years of treating patients and analyzing scientific data, Harvard Medical School researcher and clinician Dr. Martha Herbert offers a revolutionary new view of autism and a transformative strategy for dealing with it. Autism, she concludes, is not a hardwired impairment programmed into a child’s genes and destined to remain fixed forever. Instead, it is the result of a cascade of events, many seemingly minor. And while other doctors may dismiss your child’s physical symptoms—the anxiety, sensory overload, sleeplessness, frequent illnesses or seizures—as coincidental or irrelevant, Dr. Herbert sees them as vital clues to what the underlying problems are, and how to help. Drawing from the newest research, technologies, and insights, as well as inspiring case studies of both children and adults, Dr. He

Asperger's Syndrome: Tips & Strategies

""Tips and strategies for those with autism, their parents/carers, employers, friends and teachers"" My first book Look Into My Eyes, which I described as 'an autobiography through the lens of Asperger's Syndrome' shared my experiences growing up and living with Asperger's Syndrome, a high-functioning form of Autism Spectrum Disorder. In it I shared my personal experiences about what it is like to live with Asperger's, what I have found helpful, and not so helpful. I also shared my professional experiences based off of almost 20 years of working with children, teens, and adults with autism, and their parents, carers and involved professionals. After writing Look Into My Eyes I decided it would be useful to write a book of tips and strategies. This book shares parenting tips for managing children and teens with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), tips for those with ASD of all ages, tips for friends of those with ASD, strategies for teachers, and tips for work colleagues and employers.
