Autism and Me

My name is Ollie and I am 11 years old. I found out I had autism when I was 7 years old. This book is about all the different ways autism affects me and some of the things I have learnt about autism. One of the things I have learnt about autism is that it can be a superpower! Another is that autism affects everyone differently, so this is my experience - autism and me! NOTE: I am not aware that the puzzle piece icon can be controversial when used in association with autism but my Mum is so she has written this part of the description. The puzzle piece as used by Ollie in the design of his front cover is purely to represent the journey he has gone on, to discover how all the different pieces of his life fit together with his diagnosis. It is not intended to suggest that an autistic person needs to fit in with society, or that they don't fit in, or any other negative connotation.
