Zunaida graduated with a Bachelor in Speech Pathology (Hons) from the Flinders University, South Australia in 1997. Since her graduation, she has been working as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in the various special school settings in Singapore. Zunaida worked at the STEP Programme, PCMH and in the Early Intervention Programme at the Rainbow Centre. She has also served the special needs students at the APSN (Chao Yang School) and METTA School for several years. She has achieved extensive professional trainings on severe speech and language disorders, dyslexia, autism /PDD, Asperger’s Syndrome and dyspraxia. She is trained in PECS, The Lindamood Bell Programme and PROMPT (Prompt for restructuring oral muscular phonetic targets (for children with speech disorders). Her special interests lie in literacy (reading, spelling and comprehension), dyslexia and in autism. Her experience, skills and knowledge with children who have difficulties in reading and learning in mainstream school have enabled her to empower these children with the requisite skills. Zunaida also enjoys working with children in the mainstream schools as much as those with special needs.
