Natalie Woodham
Natalie graduated from the National University of Ireland Galway with a BSc Honours degree in Speech and Language Therapy. She has experience in a range of settings, including HSE primary care clinics, mainstream primary schools, special schools, and acute care in hospitals. She has provided speech and language assessment and targeted intervention for the paediatric population in primary community care clinics, both on a one-to-one and group basis. She also has experience in working with the adult and older-person populations, providing therapeutic care in voice disorders, dysphagia, aphasia, dysarthria, and cognitive communication disorders associated with various neurological conditions. As an advocate for social inclusion, Natalie has been an active participant in the Communication Partner Programme for individuals living with long-term aphasia.<br /> Natalie has also worked in paediatric disability services as part of a large multi-disciplinary team which had transitioned to the HSE Progressing Disability Services (PDS) scheme. She worked with children and adolescents with Down’s syndrome, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, intellectual disability, and other complex needs where she further developed skills in alternative and augmentative communication (AAC). She has previously received Lámh module 1 and Derbyshire Language Scheme certification, and more recently completed introductory training in the PLAY project – a developmental-based intervention for young children with ASD.<br /> Natalie is committed to providing client-centred evidence-based therapeutic care and developing her current skill-set through continued professional development. She is a member of IASLT in addition to being CORU registered. She has also recently obtained Children First certification.
