Mary Alice Volkert is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian and a Certified Diabetes Educator. Working with each patient individually, Mary Alice focuses on his or her special concerns such as diabetes, weight control, high cholesterol and gastro-intestinal problems. Depending on the patient’s food preferences and lifestyle, she calculates a meal plan to achieve the desired goals in a healthy way. Mary Alice does not advocate radical low calorie diets, nor does she sell supplement pills or other temporary aids. She believes that moderate calories combined with increased activity and behavior modification are needed to make permanent lifestyle changes.
