āIāve never met anyone from Nebraskaā is the general response when I tell a fellow American where Iām from. We tend to keep āthe good lifeā a secret to keep it from getting too crowded. In all the places Iāve lived, I have yet to see a more beautiful sunset. I am ¼ British, with my grandmother being from England, and I was raised on plenty of tea and Yorkshire pudd, preparing me for an eventual move across the pond. After completing both my undergrad and graduate studies at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, I started travelling around the US, exploring all the wonders and beauty found in the States. I worked in schools in Northern Virginia and across Los Angeles, California. Following my California adventure, I moved to New York City and provided speech therapy in the homes from birth to 3 population. After that, I made my way south to Austin, Texas where I worked in a deaf school and at a paediatric clinic (and gained weight from eating loads of breakfast tacos and queso). Certifications include Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Developmental Individual-difference Relationship-based model (DIR Floortime), American Sign Language, Kaufmann Speech to Language Protocol (apraxia).
